Some stones are quiet. This one is a storm.

The L'Artisan Pietersite is built around a genuine pietersite dial. Known among collectors as the "Tempest Stone", pietersite is a rare chatoyant quartz shot through with fibres of blue and gold crocidolite, the same mineral family as tiger's eye, but broken up, folded and re-cemented by immense geological pressure. The result is a surface that looks like storm clouds, a pattern that shifts as the light moves across it and can never be replicated.

The material is sourced from Henan Province, China, one of only two places on Earth where pietersite is found. Each rough slice is then brought to our bench, where it is finished by hand in Belgium: sized, surfaced and polished to bring out the chatoyancy that makes this stone special, before the numerals and minute track are applied.

A Rare Material, Refined

The dial is framed by applied Breguet numerals and a finely executed applied minute track, the same execution as our flagship dinosaur bone. The classical typography brings order to the chaos of the stone: refined watchmaking laid over raw geology. The contrast is what makes it work, a dial that feels elegant from across the room and wild up close.

Why Only 50

This is a pre-order, limited to 50 pieces, and there will be no restock.

Once these are spoken for, the Pietersite will not return in this form.

This is a pre-order. Every piece is assembled, finished and regulated by hand once ordered, and all orders will ship by the end of October 2026 at the latest. You will receive a tracking number as soon as your watch leaves the atelier.
