L'Artisan Arabic Mosaic

Dear friends,

Over the past months I have been working on a piece that feels both understated and deeply special: a watch featuring a luminous mosaic mother-of-pearl dial.

The dial is crafted from natural mother-of-pearl, arranged in a geometric mosaic inspired by traditional Arab Sadu weaving and the rich ornamentation of Islamic design. The result is a harmonious pattern where light and color constantly shift across the surface, revealing subtle tones of blue, violet and silver depending on how the watch meets the light.

For this piece, I chose to pair the dial with the beautiful HZ5000A micro-rotor movement, visible through an open sapphire caseback, allowing you to enjoy the movement at all times.

AZ’s collection is widely respected across the Gulf, known for its thoughtful curation and deep appreciation of both horology and artistic craftsmanship. Over time, our shared passion for watches and design naturally led to the idea of creating a piece together.

The dial reflects this collaboration, combining traditional inspiration, geometric ornamentation, and the beauty of natural materials in a way that feels both contemporary and rooted in heritage.
