My Story
Our Story · By Arnaud
Built by hand.
Driven by obsession.
L'Artisan was not founded from a business plan or an industry background. It began with a sixteen-year-old in Belgium who fell in love with the mechanics, the design, and the emotion of a watch — and simply could not stop.
Everything starts
with a decision.
At 16, I became captivated by watches — the mechanics, the design, and the quiet emotion behind a well-made timepiece. A year later, with no formal training and no industry connections, I decided to make one myself.
That decision is where L'Artisan begins.
Learning everything
the hard way.
Through trial, error, and a great deal of patience, I taught myself assembly, case polishing, dial finishing, and design — one piece at a time.
I began producing custom corporate watches for local companies, placing their identity on sporty timepieces. These early collaborations funded the work and sharpened the craft.
Six months of research.
One defining material.
After six intense months of research and experimentation, I mastered the art of making stone dials. Rare, bold, and full of natural character — no two alike. This became the signature of L'Artisan.
2024 was also the year the world started to notice. Word spread, and L'Artisan watches found their way to passionate collectors and first-time buyers across the globe.
A flagship model.
A growing world.
L'Artisan now serves customers in over 30 countries — from seasoned collectors to people buying their very first mechanical watch. This year brought two major collaborations: a custom pilot watch with Southwest Airlines, and an exclusive Porsche-themed design for the Porsche Club of America.
In September 2025, I launched the dinosaur bone dial watch — sourcing, cutting, and polishing each fragment of 65-million-year-old material by hand until it becomes a dial. It is the hardest thing I make, and the piece I am most proud of.Late 2025 also opened a new chapter: partnerships in the Middle East, extending L'Artisan's reach to a new audience of collectors who understand the value of handmade, one-of-a-kind work.
More complex.
More ambitious.
More personal.
This is the year of genuine elevation. Since January I have been developing a completely new watch — new case architecture, a new movement, a new dial concept. It is the most ambitious single project L'Artisan has undertaken, and it will be finished before the end of June.
Our dial work has also entered new territory. Enamel dials for custom client pieces. Mosaic mother-of-pearl in bespoke patterns, each one unique to its owner. And across the collection, a growing ambition toward precious metal cases — because the materials should be as rare as the craft that shapes them.
The goal has never changed: to make watches that carry real meaning, built entirely by hand, by one person who refuses to cut corners."Every watch I make starts as an obsession and ends as someone's most treasured object."— Arnaud, founder of L'Artisan
